Mount Calvary is a mid-sized "family" congregation, providing a spiritual home to people of all ages and from all walks of life. The congregation was founded in 1932 after members of a neighborhood "Sunday School" banded together to reach out to what was then Peoria's "North Side."
The years have brought many blessings to the congregation, including the ability to build the fellowship hall in 1951, the current sanctuary in 1961, and an expansion of facilities in 2003.
In 1959, Mt. Calvary joined with sister congregations, Trinity and Redeemer, to support Concordia Lutheran School.
In many ways, education was, and remains, central to the ministry that God carries out through Mt. Calvary as we grow together in the grace and knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
